Gobierno de México muestra video de la fuga de El Chapo Guzmán

Las autoridades mexicanas exhibieron la noche del martes un video de la fuga del capo narcotraficante Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán a través de un agujero en la ducha de su celda de un penal de máxima seguridad.

Las imágenes, registradas por una cámara de seguridad, inician a las 20H50 del pasado sábado con “El Chapo”, vestido con uniforme, aparentemente orinando en su minúscula celda.
Luego echa un vistazo al suelo de la ducha, que está separado del resto del lugar por un pequeño tabique que impide la visibilidad de la cámara.
El capo empieza a dar vueltas de forma nerviosa por la celda mientras mira varias veces el suelo de su baño. En las imágenes, de poca calidad, se observan pocos objetos en la celda, entre ellos uno brillante del tamaño de un Ipad.
En un momento, el reo se sienta en la cama para cambiarse de calzado, vuelve a caminar hacia su ducha, se agacha y desaparece por un agujero que no es visible en el video.
Son las 20H52 y uno de los capos más poderosos del planeta se acaba de esfumar por segunda vez de un penal de máxima seguridad mexicano.
El gobierno, que ha sufrido una humillación internacional, decidió difundir este video tres días después de la fuga, mientras mantiene una cacería contrarreloj para capturar a su, otra vez, enemigo público número uno.
– Comportamiento “normal” –
A pesar de los movimientos del capo previos a la fuga, el comisionado nacional de seguridad, Monte Alejandro Rubido, dijo que su comportamiento era “normal en un interno que pasa largas horas en estas condiciones”.
Rubido exhibió otro video en el que se aprecia el conducto de más de 10 metros de altura en el que el narcotraficante, de 58 años, descendió en escalera hasta el túnel que lo condujo hasta una aislada y precaria construcción fuera del penal.
En este pasadizo, de 1,5 kilómetros de longitud, había una motocicleta modificada para transportarse por un carril.
El comisionado reiteró que la celda de Guzmán tenía dos “puntos ciegos” por motivos de “privacidad” y dijo que el tabique de la ducha evitó que los supervisores de las cámaras de la prisión pudieran detectar el movimiento de fuga.
En su explicación, el comisionado no detalló cuánto tiempo transcurrió entre que Guzmán se escapó de la celda número 20 y que los vigilantes se dieron cuenta de su ausencia y lanzaron la alarma.
Centenares de soldados se desplegaron en los alrededores del penal -a 90 km de la capital mexicana-, en regiones vecinas y suspendieron los vuelos en el aeropuerto más cercano.
Rubido señaló, no obstante, que se investiga si los protocolos de alerta se siguieron correctamente.
– Custodios “retenidos” –
Guzmán, uno de los narcotraficantes más poderosos del mundo, ya se había escapado en 2001 de otro penal de máxima seguridad.
Su recaptura en febrero de 2014 fue presentada como un gran éxito del gobierno de Enrique Peña Nieto.
El mandatario, que en el momento de la segunda fuga estaba volando a Francia para una visita de Estado, ordenó también una “profunda investigación” sobre la posible complicidad de funcionarios y trabajadores del penal.
Un total de 34 empleados de esta cárcel, considerada hasta ahora como la más segura del país, fueron interrogados.
El martes, una fuente de la fiscalía general dijo a la AFP que 12 de ellos ya han sido liberados y los otros 22 están ahora formalmente “retenidos” porque “el ministerio público presume alguna participación” en la huida.
El secretario (ministro) de Gobernación, Miguel Ángel Osorio Chong, reconoció el lunes que Guzmán “tuvo que haber contado con la complicidad de personal y/o funcionarios” de El Altiplano.
La fuente de la fiscalía no detalló si el director de la prisión, quien fue destituido el lunes, está entre los empleados liberados o retenidos.
En su intento por reconstruir esta fuga que ha tenido impacto mundial, las autoridades han tomado declaración a 17 internos de la prisión, a dos abogados del narcotraficante y al propietario de la construcción donde desembocaba el túnel.
– Comparecencia ante Congreso –
En medio de la indignación desatada en México, el Congreso federal citó el jueves a Osorio Chong y a otros altos funcionarios para que den explicaciones sobre la fuga de “El Chapo”, quien vuelve a ser uno los hombres más buscados del mundo.
En Estados Unidos también hay cargos judiciales contra “El Chapo” y algunos expertos en seguridad señalaron que la fuga podría generar problemas bilaterales, ya que México rechazó su extradición.
El martes, Osorio Chong se reunió con el embajador estadounidense, Anthony Wayne, y ambos acordaron reforzar la colaboracion para atrapar al narcotraficante.
“El Chapo” lideró durante años sangrientas batallas contra cárteles rivales para dominar las rutas de tráfico de droga a Estados Unidos y los mercados locales de consumo.
El gobierno ha ofrecido una recompensa de 60 millones de pesos (3,8 millones de dólares), el doble de las decretadas para los criminales más buscados, por información que conduzca hasta el nuevo escondite de “El Chapo”.
